Supported Home

goodsell3.jpg

Over the last couple of years  we have carried out an extensive programme of improvements to the house, at huge costs to the charity but this is money very well spent and is making life safer and more comfortable for the residents. Much of our focus is now on addressing the mental health and other needs of our clients and we have set up an office at Goodsell House where as well as admin work, one to one meetings can take place in privacy, with our Mental Health Specialist or other health practitioners.

In 1976 Goodsell House was set up as a trust by the founder of a local building firm to provide accommodation tfor homeless men. Over the years many residents have been grateful for respite from the streets and the chance to turn their lives around.  Goodsell House was registered with the Council as a House of Multiple Ocupation (HMO) for 9 people but recently, in answer to the needs of our residents,  the status was changed to that of Supported Housing.

Goodsell House cannot operate without donations and grants to help combat the rising costs required for such a large building. Goodsell relies on help and assistance and the benefits provided to Goodsell House from combining with Homeless Care. Please consider donating.

Just to say thank you for your help and support in my recent troubled times, despite thing being quite bleak your reassurances and advice were a godsend. I am now back on track and have a clear plan for the future.

Tony
